This principle is one of several elements that make social and cultural responsibility an important component of our company policy. Assuming social responsibility is a fundamental aspect of our identity as a company. As a company with a rich heritage dating back to 1748, Villeroy & Boch views it as its duty to get involved in the cultural and social environment. Our aim is to be a strong and reliable partner to society. Our employees are also encouraged to take responsibility on an individual basis.

Villeroy & Boch supports those affected by flood disasters.
In 2021, for example, around 2,500 households were affected by a flood disaster in the Trier-Ehrang region alone (GER), in the immediate vicinity of Villeroy & Boch AG. In addition to financial donations to selected relief organisations, donations in kind were also made available. In this context, the Dining & Lifestyle Division donated household goods such as crockery, cutlery and glasses. The Bathroom and Wellness Division was also active. On the initiative of the Dünnwald sanitary company in Erftstadt (GER), around 100 toilets and washbasins were distributed directly on site.

A "Christmas tree wish" – making dreams come true

Villeroy & Boch has been organising the successful "Christmas tree wish" employee campaign since 2014, backed by strong support from employees. At three sites, Christmas trees are decorated with star-shaped wish lists by children from local social care facilities. Villeroy & Boch employees then make the children's gift wishes come true. The response from employees is impressive, and it is rewarded by the children's shining eyes.

Villeroy&Boch takes action for refugees

Villeroy&Boch wants to make a contribution to tackling the great social challenge created by the arrival of high numbers of refugees. A team of employees was formed to support refugees arriving in the Saarland area. Working closely with the coordinating main reception centres, it collected and sorted employee donations and delivered them to the centres. Villeroy&Boch AG is also donating products to help its home state and Saarland communities cope with the challenges raised by the arrival of the refugees. For example, the Mettlach-based company provided the initial reception centre in Lebach with over 3,000 plates and cups as well as sanitary ceramics for washrooms and toilets.

Promoting fair play

Another component of Villeroy & Boch AG's social commitment is promoting sporting activities, as the company supports the principles of fair sporting competition. Villeroy & Boch's national partner is the Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe foundation, promoting the values of performance, fair play and cooperation. At a regional level, the company has been supporting the football club SV Mettlach for a number of years.
