Dr Markus Warncke, born in Hamburg, lives together with his partner and two children.
He studied economics at the Universities of Essen and Dusseldorf and graduated with a degree in business studies (Diplom-Kaufmann). He gained a doctorate in business administration from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. While at Villeroy & Boch, he also completed the eight-week Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Boston (USA).
Dr Markus Warncke began his career in 1996 at Daimler-Benz AG, Stuttgart, initially as audit manager and subsequently as team leader in the Corporate Audit department.
Dr Warncke has been with Villeroy & Boch AG since 2001. He was the Head of Corporate Audit and Mergers & Acquisitions until 2005, before taking over as Head of Finance and Administration in the Wellness & Fittings Division in Utrecht (Netherlands) until 2007. Following positions as Head of Group Treasury (until 2011) and Group Financial Controller with responsibility for Group Accounting, Group Treasury and the Shared Service Centre Accounting, Dr Warncke became Head of Finance in spring 2014. He was appointed to the Management Board of Villeroy & Boch AG in January 2015, where he is responsible for Finance.
