As a listed company, Villeroy & Boch operates in a special, complex and dynamic legal environment, which results in very diverse and technically challenging tasks.
What do you do at Villeroy & Boch?
One of my main tasks in Group Reporting involves working on the monthly, quarterly and annual statements as well as the annual report for the Villeroy & Boch Group. I also process or analyse a number of technical questions regarding the implementation of international accounting standards in the Group.
Why did you apply to Villeroy & Boch?
As a listed company, Villeroy & Boch operates in a special, complex and dynamic legal environment, which results in very diverse and technically challenging tasks. I enjoy getting my teeth into projects. On the other hand, it was also important to me to work for a company that makes tangible products that are easy to identify and recognise as it makes the actual technical work less dry and abstract.
What do you value about Villeroy & Boch as an employer?
When you look at the Mettlach 2.0 project, you can tell how important it is to Villeroy & Boch to provide its employees with an attractive working environment. The company generally invests a lot to make work here as pleasant as possible, including the employees’ restaurant “Abteigarten”, which opened a year ago – the food there is fantastic!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Due to my position, I have a broad insight into the Group’s current business development and have my finger on the pulse of time, so to speak. I work closely with colleagues in other departments such as Controlling, Taxation and Law. It is incredibly exciting as you also get to learn a few things from the other “disciplines” and so you never get bored.
What has surprised you most about Villeroy & Boch?
When you hear the term “family business”, you automatically think of values such as tradition, sustainability, independence and regional ties. The corporate culture at Villeroy & Boch’s family business also reflects these qualities. But at the same time, Villeroy & Boch is committed to combining practically the best of both worlds by asserting itself as an international brand with global reach while being open for trends and change.
What advice would you give to candidates who are thinking of applying to Villeroy & Boch?
It certainly won’t be a disadvantage if you read up on the many years of company history and our products because as an employee you will sooner or later inevitably absorb the “V&B DNA”, which in turn means you will identify more with your employer. If you want to work for an independent as well as economically sound company with cool tangible products, then apply here.
