Witnesses to a company history that is rich in tradition

With the acquisition of the former Benedictine abbey in 1809, Jean-François Boch laid the foundation stone for progressive ceramic production in the region. Since 1842, the Old Abbey has been the main headquarters of the international group.

If you take a walk through the park around the Old Abbey, you will find the Saarland’s oldest sacred building, the Old Tower.

This ancient edifice, which is over 1000 years old, was originally built as a chapel for the mortal remains of St. Luitwinius and has been extensively restored in recent years.

This conservation work makes an important contribution towards the protection of a historical monument that is inseparably linked to the name of Villeroy & Boch.
