Villeroy & Boch at Ambiente 2012: Fusion Goods

New innovative accessory highlights for living and dining areas -

Fusion Goods: a unique material mix of porcelain and stainless steel

Flowing, organic forms are currently much in demand in both architecture and furniture design. Similarly, matt stainless steel accessories and shining white porcelain pieces have become highlights of timeless and simple interior designs. Fusion Goods, the new Villeroy & Boch accessories collection, draws inspiration from both of these trends, uniquely combining porcelain and stainless steel in an exciting interplay of materials. The organically attractive Fusion Goods objects are distinguished by interesting forms and captivate through strength of design.

Functional and decorative products

The Fusion Goods series includes both practical and decorative articles, ranging from various bowls to vases and candleholders. The stainless steel is enhanced by the porcelain components, all of which are dishwasher safe and thus hygienic, increasing the practicality of the products.

At the heart of the series is an extravagant centrepiece, an opulently curved and lustrous stainless steel piece with a generous porcelain platter that can be easily removed for cleaning. The centrepiece is a decorative object in its own right, but it can also be filled with fresh fruit, patisseries or other little treats, and used to eye-catching effect on a buffet.

The unusual porcelain bowl with three segments is designed to combine both practical and decorative qualities. It lends itself to use as a fruit bowl, but is equally appropriate for nuts, dried fruit, sweets, snacks or hors d’ouevres.
The porcelain dip bowls are available in three different sizes with stainless steel covers that can also be used separately as flat dishes. The bowls can be stacked, both with and without the covers, and can be used to create attractive ensembles.

The stainless steel vases come in three sizes, each subtly different from the others. They can be arranged as a group or used individually. The reflections seen in their shining surfaces vary as the viewing position is changed, an effect complemented by the simple porcelain finish.

Striking lighting effects can be created with the Fusion Goods candleholders and tealights. The porcelain candleholder is characterised by a minimal two-dimensionality, which can be strikingly lifted into a third dimension by three taper candles. A set consisting of porcelain vase and stainless steel candleholder provides a beautifully decorative ensemble, while the set of porcelain candleholder and stainless steel tealight holder can be arranged and re-arranged to create original and imaginative effects.

A stainless steel tray with ergonomic handles and a stainless steel photograph frame for 10 x 15 cm photos completes the collection. The frame allows itself to be aligned horizontally or vertically, held in place by a magnet integrated into a porcelain marble.
